Andrew Eddy

President and Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Eddy joined Athena Global in 2001 as a founding partner. He has worked extensively in both the public and private space field. At the Canadian Space Agency, he served as Secretary to Canada's National Space Plan Task Force and created the Agency's ISS Commercialization Office.

Andrew left the CSA to join MirCorp, a high-profile international space start-up, as Senior Vice-President and Acting General Counsel. With Athena Global, Andrew's mandates have covered a wide array, including space sector strategic planning, environmental and security issues, research and analysis. He was the lead author of the Athena Global Earth Observation Guide 2005. He is currently leading Athena Global’s Disaster Information Service Team, an effort to develop operational satellite-based services for real-time international disaster relief. Andrew has also worked for the Canadian International Development Agency (multilateral technical cooperation) and the International Assembly of Francophone Parliamentarians (Secretary of the Committee for Political and Administrative Affairs).

Andrew is a graduate of the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) and McGill University, where he studied economics and law (LL.B., B.C.L., D.E.P.). He has served as invited lecturer at the International Space University and McGill University's Institute of Air and Space Law. Andrew has appeared numerous times on radio and television on space business issues, and was Space Business Editor for Quest, the quarterly publication of the University of North Dakota's Center for Space Studies.
